Tabby - Brown - Large - Adult - Male - Cat - Casiden - BARN CAT
Description
Before I begin talking about myself, Carol, my rescuer has something to say. Hello. I'm Carol of Carol's Ferals and Friendlies. Mainly, I do T-N-R (Trap-Neuter-Return). This is where stray and feral cats are humanely trapped, fixed and after a short post surgery rehabilitation, are returned to where they were found. This is a very effective means of feline population control. But as it goes with most things, I have found myself in other aspects of cat rescue. Two weeks ago I was made aware of a situation where a woman passed away and left a farm full of wonderful cats. With no caregiver and a gun happy neighbor who was likely to end the situation with a few bullets, I stepped in. At first I thought all the cats would be feral and planned to have them fixed and relocated to area farms (where they would be welcome) to be barn cats.Well, that was all fine until a few days later when I realized that the cats were not feral, but friendly. True, you will find a couple cats (Bender and Martha) who would be best off being barn cats. But the rest of the gang range from super outgoing to somewhat shy and would benefit greatly by being in a home environment.I'm doing all that I can to ensure a nice life for the cats that I've been able to take out of this horrible situation. If you are interested in reading more about this particular rescue and seeing where these cats came from, please visit my blog and read posts titled Operation Agnes. My blog is available for viewing at www.carolsferals.blogspot.com. If you are interested in adopting any of my kitties, I would be thrilled to talk to you. I have reasonable adoption fees that include spay/neuter, FIV/FELV testing, shots, flea treatment and de-worming. You can reach me at dollmouse@aol.com or by calling 616 560-0555. Thank you for taking an interest in my rescue cats. Have a groovy day ~ Carol. Now for what the individual kitties have to say about themselves.Hello, I'm Casiden! I was rescued by Carol in the dead of winter 2007. I and 23 other cats were left behind when our caregiver passed away. Carol took us all in and found us homes. Many of my comrades were feral/wild and had to be relcoated to barn homes. But I was friendly so Carol worked to find me an indoor home. I lived with Shannon and her family for a little over two years. They are nice people. And they have been happy to have my MOUSING services in exchange for a loving home. But soon after getting settled in, I started to NOT use my litter box! Old habits die hard is all I can say! Carol worked with Shannon and her family to make sure that my eliminating outside of the litter box wasn't for a medical reason. They even put me on kitty prozac for a while, but to no avail. I just like to go where I go, when I want to. And that doesn't make for a happy home. I understand! So Shannon has kinda "had it up to here" and needs to find me a barn home where I can do my business outside and keep from destroying her furniture. I am an excellent mouser and will promise you that you won't have a rodent problem if YOU promise to feed me and offer me shelter and medical attention if I ever need it. There are procedures for rehoming me in a barn. Carol can fill you in on all of that if you're interested in adopting me! Thanks for checking me out! Casiden
