A super guy for the right family It was my bad luck to be born into a household where there were too many animals and no decent care or attention given to us. Fortunately my litter mates and I were brought to the Allegan Animal Shelter before our lives became even unhappier. We all suffered from whipworm and kennel cough, and were frightened to death of people. Soon after, my sister Kelcey and I found a temporary home with a Wishbone volunteer who spent several weeks trying to gently expose us to other people and animals. Not to boast, but Im a resilient young pup. Even though I was really scared of everyone in the beginning, it didnt take very long before I started to lose my fear of humans. My foster moms relatives have visited us several times, and everyone agreed I was great around themeven the children. Im aggressive with dogs larger than me, but if I encounter a small dog, we seem to get along fine. When it comes to playing, I have to admit that I dont really know what to do with toys. There were no toys in the home I came from, and no one ever bothered to play with me. If you throw a ball, Ill chase after it, but I dont bring it back. With a little time and attention however Im sure Ill understand what Im supposed to do with toys and balls. Although my foster mom believes Im ready for adoption, she wants to make certain my new family understands Ill need a little more time and attention devoted to me than other eight month old pups. For most of my young life, Ive been neglected and ignored. Now that Ive found people who are kind and pay attention to me, I can hardly believe it. And I work really hard to please them. As happy as I am here, I cant wait for a permanent home of my own. Ive waited eight long months to be part of a loving family. I hope I dont have to wait much longer.
