Lilly was very thin when she came to North Star and her coat was in terrible condition. However, with good nutrition she is now at her perfect weight and she has an absolutely gorgeous, silky coat. She is good about not pulling on a leash.but if she gets nervous will go from side to side and can get tangled in your feet. We are working on getting her to relax and walk on a loose leash. I took her for her first car ride today and she was perfect. She laid in the back with her buddies, Ivy, Skeeter and Gracie and never made a sound. She was not bothered by passing cars, a man on a bicycle or a woman walking her two dogs on the side of the road. The best news is that she did not get carsick! Lilly has had no accidents with her housetraining and will sit by the door to go out. The only thing I need to work on is getting her really comfortable in her crate. She is hesitant to go in, but I make sure she has a good treat to entice her and she will eventually go in on her own. The first few nights she was in the house I did not have a crate for her, so I just looped the handle of her leash around my hand and she slept on a dog bed next to me all night and never moved. However, I feel all dogs should be comfortable in a crate so I will continue with her training. Lilly is up to date on all her shots and is on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative.
